ABOUT
Kharen Hill is a world-renowned photographer and director whose work spans entertainment, music, advertising, and fine art. Known for her cinematic sensibility and intuitive command of light, she creates imagery that feels both iconic and deeply personal, no matter the conditions or scale of the production.
With a career that stretches across continents, Kharen is trusted by major brands, studios, and record labels for her ability to deliver striking visuals while drawing out genuine emotion. Her background in directing informs every frame. She guides her subjects with ease, encouraging movement, vulnerability, and authenticity, resulting in work that feels alive rather than posed.
On set, Kharen’s dynamic energy and disarming presence create space for spontaneity. Her extensive experience working on film and television productions, alongside some of the world’s most recognizable actors, musicians, and cultural figures, places her among a rare group of image-makers who can balance technical precision with instinctive storytelling.

Her work has earned international recognition, including awards from PDN and Applied Arts for celebrity portraiture. A nationally recognized advertising campaign documenting spinal cord injury prevention in teens further cemented her reputation for combining powerful narrative with purposeful visual language.
As a fine artist, Kharen is best known for Out The Window, an ongoing series that explores daily life, quiet moments, and shared human experience across cultures. Collected throughout North America, Europe, and the Southern Hemisphere, the project has sparked conversations around unity, presence, and connection. Her first solo exhibition, Out The Window: 5 Days in Kenya, opened in West Los Angeles in partnership with Blood:Water Mission, with proceeds supporting humanitarian initiatives in Africa. The series continues to expand with new chapters from Iceland, California, Rock Creek, and Cuba, each aligned with charitable causes.

Beyond her creative practice, Kharen is a respected educator and mentor. She is a sought-after guest speaker at post-secondary photography programs and actively supports emerging artists as they transition into professional careers. She has served on the national board of the Canadian Association of Photographers and Soapbox Women Los Angeles, advocating for creatives across disciplines, and is a member of APA, LACP, and IATSE 669.
